Crime Prevention and Safety Information

Crime Prevention Information

  • Avoid leaving valuables in plain sight inside your parked vehicle. Instead, consider leaving them at home or locking them inside your vehicle’s trunk.
  • Always lock your vehicle when you leave it and remember to take your keys with you.
  • Do not leave valuable items (like book bags, purses, wallets, phones, computers, etc.) unattended anywhere on campus – even for a brief period of time.
  • Take appropriate responsibility for your own safety.
  • When feasible, walk with at least one other person – especially at night. Have your cell phone accessible and be ready to call for assistance if needed.
  • Report any criminal or suspicious behavior you may see to Campus Police as quickly as you safely can. Call 336-819-2046 from any phone or extension 50911 from a GTCC campus phone at any time for police assistance on all GTCC campuses. You may also activate any outdoor Emergency Call Box to directly contact GTCC Campus Police.

  • Help ensure that lanes of travel used by emergency vehicles are kept clear.
